Lessons For All Ages & Abilities
Why Take Lessons?
At Misery
Mountain, we want you to have the best ski experience possible. We
offer lessons for kids aged 3+ as well as lessons for teens and
adults. If group lessons aren't your thing, you can book a private
lesson with one of our certified ski (C.S.I.A.) or snowboarding (C.A.S.I.)
instructors. We also offer lessons for schools and large groups.
Choose to stay at our local hill or improve your abilities here
before heading to the mountains. Skiing and
Snowboarding are excellent sports to help you get in shape, enjoy
the great outdoors, and socialize with others.

LEARN TO SKI PROGRAM
For Ages 6 to 12Junior learn to ski is designed to create the best possible learning environment. You will learn to ski under the gentle expert guidance of our enthusiastic instructors. The goals of this package are to turn out skiers capable of riding a T-bar and skiing at a low intermediate level.
PROGRAM INCLUDES:
Three full day area passes
Three one-hour lessons
Lesson time: 9:30 - 10:30am

For Ages 6 to12
Junior ski improvement is for the more seasoned skier who is skiing beginner and intermediate runs. The program will include an hour lesson each day for a total of three days. The outcome for junior ski improvement is to develop shorter round turns on blue and easy black trails.

Lesson time: 11:00am – 12:00 (noon)

LEARN TO SNOWBOARD
For Ages 8 to16
This program is designed to create a positive learning environment for the sport of snowboarding. Lessons are one and a half hours in length from 10:30 am – 12:00 (noon). The cost of the program includes two full day 10.00am – 4.00pm area passes. At the end of this program the boarder should have basic knowledge such as turning, stopping as well as riding the T-bar lift.

Discover Skiing or Discover Snowboarding - all for $45
An introduction to skiing or snowboarding, designed for first timers. Everything you need to discover the thrill & fun of skiing or snowboarding. Not available for children under 6 years old.
Includes:

1 hour beginner group lesson

Private and Semi-Private Lessons

IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ
REGISTRATION: Registration may be completed at Peace River Ski Club, by mail, or phone for all programs at least 48 hours in advance. Register early – enrollment is limited! All Ski School fees must be paid in full upon registration. Ski School programs are not transferable or refundable.
GETTING STARTED: Try to arrive at the Club approximately 1 hour before the first class and ˝ hour each consecutive day. Check in at the general office where you will receive your pass. Go to the rental shop for your equipment if you require it, and then meet at the ski school meeting place, which is out the rental shop door to the left where the ski rack is.
INCLEMENT WEATHER: If you are uncertain whether lessons will proceed on any given day, phone 624-4881. Lessons are very seldom canceled due to the weather, skiing is a winter sport and snow and cold can become an anticipated pleasure! Make up Lessons: will be provided if postponed by the Management.
ABOUT OUR INSTRUCTORS: Peace River Ski Club certified instructors are committed to providing a safe enjoyable experience with empathy and encouragement towards their students. At times there may be trained Snow Hosts teaching entry-level lessons.
The Ski School recommends 4 year–olds and younger be taught on a one – to – one basis.
TIPS
FOR AN ENJOYABLE HILL EXPERIENCE!
It’s important to wear the
right socks. Don’t wear two pairs
as your boots will not fit properly and you’ll want to still feel your toes!
You can bring an extra set though. A
regular pair that you’d wear to try on new shoes is perfect; leave the wool
socks in your drawer!
